Balancing Two Careers with Purpose: My Journey as a Performer and Entrepreneur

I'm honored to be featured in Business Insider for a topic that reflects a major part of my life: balancing two careers with intention.

For years, I balanced two passions—performing as a professional dancer with The Metropolitan Opera and, between rehearsals and performances, building The Triangle Sessions, my corporate wellness company dedicated to creating meaningful, team-building experiences for the workplace.

My days often began early in Philadelphia, catching up on work emails during the commute to New York City. After a full schedule of ballet rehearsals and performances, I would shift into business mode—following up with clients, planning workshops, and nurturing the vision behind The Triangle Sessions. It was a demanding schedule, but also incredibly fulfilling.

Here are a few things I learned along the way:

  • Structure Creates Freedom
Living by my calendar became non-negotiable. Having clear boundaries between my dance schedule and work on the business helped me give my best to both without burning out.

  • Use the Margins
Commute time, dressing room breaks, and quiet moments became opportunities to move things forward—whether replying to emails or brainstorming new ideas.

  • Boundaries Matter
Learning when to pause or say no was essential. I realized I didn’t need to do everything—I just needed to focus on what truly mattered.

  • Support Systems Are Everything
I couldn’t have done this without the encouragement and understanding of my community—from fellow dancers to supportive clients to my husband, who has been my anchor through it all.

Balancing both careers required intention, flexibility, and a deep connection to purpose. The discipline and creativity I brought to the stage mirrored the passion I poured into The Triangle Sessions. Both roles shaped who I am today.
